The optimum center of gravity is a legendary value. Usually you start with the manufacturer's specification, mark it on the bottom of the wing and then it's off to the tip of your fingers. If the center of gravity does not fit, a lengthy procedure begins. Down from the fingers, add lead, up on the fingers, down again, but some lead out again and so on... Or you have a center of gravity scale. These rock back and forth and if you are not careful, the beautiful model slips off the rocker. In the worst case scenario, you damage the new model.

That no longer has to be the case. The new, innovative center of gravity balance from GliderCG solves the problem very elegantly.

First of all, the GliderCG offers the models a stable support. The valuable model can be placed securely on four support points with a diameter of approx. 1 cm and it remains there during the rest of the weighing process. The two pins at the front serve as a surface stop and these are not changed either. This means that the model is only placed on the scales once and all the necessary adjustments can then be made.

Scales

Since we are dealing with a scale here, the Glider CG naturally shows the flight weight directly on the display after the model has been placed on it.

Center of gravity

The second line of the display also shows the current center of gravity. This is determined by the support points and their leverage ratio. This means that you can also make any necessary adjustments directly with the model on the scales. The GliderCG is a great help, for example, in optimally positioning the components of an electric flight model for the required center of gravity.

Our smallest offspring...

The smallest GliderCG is specially designed for models with slim wings. With a surface depth from 11 cm, smaller models can be optimally weighed. Be it an F3K competition model or a scale replica of an ETA with its ultra-high aspect ratio. The new V3 version of the GliderCG F3K comes with all kinds of new features. The body is ultra-compact with a retractable display. We have also given the GliderCG F3K scale an additional W-LAN interface and an integrated rechargeable battery. This means that the scale can be read out via cell phone or PC and batteries are no longer required. Just a USB-C charger to charge the battery

Our Universal GliderCG can do everything our small F3K scale can do and more!

Surface depth min. 150mm, fuselage width and depth up to 87mm. Added to this is an increased model weight of up to 8kg and foldable support arms. This makes it possible to transport and store the GliderCG Universal in a space-saving manner.

As an additional feature, the GliderCG Universal has an integrated WiFi module. This makes it possible to display all the values shown on the integrated OLED display on a WiFi-enabled device. But that's not all, target weight values can also be saved and the scale can be recalibrated.

Support adapter

To increase the flexibility of our GliderCGs, we supply a surface adapter free of charge with every GliderCG Universal and GliderCG PLUS. This small tool makes it possible to use smaller models on the larger scales. The rear support point is flexibly adjustable and allows optimum adaptation to the model aircraft. However, the adapters should be fitted before switching on the scale so that they do not affect the measured values.

GliderCG Plus...

... A little bigger and a little wider!

Do you have large gliders in your hangar? No problem! The GliderCG Plus can carry up to 15 kg and the fuselage dimensions are also within the usual scale dimensions.

GliderCG Scale Mini...

...the all-round genius!

Thousands of models have already been weighed, adjusted and optimized with the GliderCGs currently on the market. We have often been asked whether there is a scale that can be used to weigh all models from small to large. However, our GliderCG Scale was simply too big for many customers. Now, with the GliderCG Scale Mini, we're almost introducing the egg-laying wool sow. It has clearly inherited its genes from its big sister. It consists of a sturdy aluminum frame, can accommodate models with landing gear and displays the data via W-LAN. The weighing range is from 100g to 25kg. Fuselage widths and depths of up to 25 cm are possible. The surface depth is also of secondary importance, as we have designed the rear support point to be flexible. This means that all models, from small gliders to scale gliders, can be weighed in the same way.

We have also equipped the scale with a folding mechanism so that it can be easily stowed away when not in use. But that's not all. The scales have been given a simple touch button to switch them on and the charging port has also been designed as a USB-C, making it even more robust.

Small when you don't need it

The GliderCG Scale Mini has a foldable design. This makes it easy to store in the workshop at any time and the GliderCG Scale Mini is also very easy to transport to the airfield.

The four support points adapt perfectly to every grand piano. The front supports sit securely under the leading edge while the rear supports are flexibly adjustable. This ensures that the aircraft does not rest on the sensitive flaps.

...for the big ones!

Thousands of models have already been balanced, adjusted and optimized with the GliderCGs currently on the market. One feedback that kept coming back was the size limitation. We have responded to this. The GliderCG Scale is made for the really big pots. It is built from a stable aluminum frame, which ensures that the very expensive models stand securely and are not damaged when being weighed. The weighing range from 200g to 40kg leaves nothing to be desired. Body widths of up to 36 cm are possible. The surface depth is now also a secondary issue, as we have made the rear support point flexible. This means that all models, from small utility models to 8m gliders, can be weighed in the same way. And if an aircraft does not fit into the GliderCG Scale, just get in touch with us, we can also create customized sizes!

But that's not all. As with our GliderThrow, we have implemented the display via WLAN. This means that any WLAN-capable end device can be used as a display. This option offers even more possibilities. The GliderCG Scale can save up to five model centers of gravity as a target value. This allows you to target this value again and again. Of course, there is also a display that shows how far away you are from the target value. In addition, the GliderCG Scale is now able to show the balance over the longitudinal axis. Of course, the difference is also indicated here. This allows you to see at a glance whether one half of the surface is heavier than the other.

Note: Unlike in this photo, you must ensure that the scale is level. It is best to check this beforehand with a spirit level.

All GliderCG models, but especially the Scale models, send out a W-LAN and allow you to log in with a cell phone, tablet, PC or similar device and read the data.

Sturdy aluminum frame

The GliderCG Scale Gears chassis is supported not only by sturdy aluminum profiles but also by solid brackets, so that heavy models are stable and secure despite the true structure.

Practical dimensions

The GliderCG Scale gears is specially designed for large models with landing gear. Of course, any glider model can be weighed on it. Even without landing gear. The only thing to note is that this version cannot simply be plugged in due to its design. To remove it, two screws must be loosened at each of the brackets.

The size has been chosen so that even large wheels can be accommodated. If this is not enough, the scale can also be ordered in an individual size. Talk to us about it.

The GliderCG scales can all be connected directly to a cell phone, laptop, etc. via W-LAN. This allows you to interpret the data independently of the device and also save focal points for later use as target focal points.
