Special Gap Masking Tape...

...laminar down to the last crack!

That little bit more power through optimized aerodynamics!

It has been known for a long time that control surface gaps can significantly disturb the induced drag. With our man-carrying colleagues, it is almost unthinkable to fly an aircraft without effective gap covers. The loss of performance caused by the vortices is too great.

In model flying, it is also generally recognized that efficient covering of the control surface gaps brings noticeable advantages. Even if the effects are significantly less than with the man-carrying ones, the improvement in performance cannot be ignored, especially for high-performance gliders. Performance-oriented pilots have been making their own gap cover tapes for a long time. Usually made from adhesive tape, elaborately secured with flour or other powders to prevent unwanted sticking.

Driven by our passion to get the maximum performance out of our models, we had a suitable gap cover tape developed especially for sports models. It was important to us that it was particularly thin in order to fit into the beads that are present on Vladimir models. With a total width of 10 mm and an extremely strong adhesive film coating of 5 mm.

The selected dimensions are universal enough to cover all areas of the sports models and special enough to avoid unnecessarily wide masking tapes being pressed onto the rudders. A slight pre-curvature allows the tape to fit perfectly and at the same time does not create unnecessary resistance that the control surfaces have to work against.

A classic development by competition pilots for ambitious model pilots.
