The VM Twist Spinner was developed for electric gliders, which should lie very flat on the fuselage despite high inclines. Due to a 10° inclined arrangement of the yoke, the Twist Propeller is slightly rotated when folded to the fuselage and with that generating less drag. Once the motor is switched on, the Twist Propeller turns into its specified position when unfolded and enables the corresponding pitch. The VM Twist Spinner has been optimized with the VM Twist Propeller and needs it to achieve the specified pitch rate. The advantage of this combination is an unmatched low drag at high propeller pitches.
